Spark! Book Fund

What is it?

When nearly everyone in a school is talking about and reading the shortlisted books from the Spark! School Book Awards, we want to make sure that every child is equally involved and no one misses out.

Our Spark! Book Fund allows teachers to nominate disadvantaged children in their schools to receive free copies of the shortlisted books, to inspire them and grow their love of reading.

Please support us to get quality books in the hands of all children and help make lifelong readers of them all.

Any donations you make will be used solely for buying and delivering books for nominated pupils. Please help us reach as many as possible.

Our impact

A huge thank to you everyone who donated towards our book fund for disadvantaged pupils over the past few years. Thanks to your generosity we have been able to raise an amazing £9,000 and donate over 1,600 books to children who may not otherwise had access to them, but that's just the start. We're hoping to do even more next year!

What schools are saying

"The children who received the book sets from the fund were genuinely delighted. Our little Reception child ran across the playground to say thank you. We told them they had won a competition. Our Y3 recipient corrected me when I inadvertently missed out a sentence, reading aloud one of the picture books to the class, because he knew it word for word. He'd already read all his set 'at least 5 times'."

"Disadvantaged pupils were excited to be given books that they could keep. A real joy to see the delight on their faces!"
