Mark has been a Head of English, a Borough Adviser, a Deputy Head at a secondary school and is currently the Head Teacher at Coombe Hill Junior School in Kingston. He is also one of the founders of the Spark! School Book Awards.

Anna Wells

Anna Wells, Ellingham Primary School

Anna is the Assistant Headteacher and English Lead at Ellingham Primary School, who participated in the awards last year and really noticed the difference it made in children's enthusiasm for reading. Anna is really looking forward to promoting books and the amazing places they can take you to!

Ellie Kramer

Ellie Kramer, Robin Hood Primary and Nursery School

Ellie is the Literacy Coordinator and Year 5 teacher at Robin Hood Primary and Nursery School. Her favourite things to read are the works of playwright William Shakespeare and classic fiction. She is thrilled to be on the panel for this year's Spark! Book Awards as she believes reading is a truly magical experience. Ellie is most looking forward to ending my days curled up with a good book and sharing new, exciting literature with you all!

Emma Rizi

Emma Rizi, Christ Church New Malden CofE Primary School

Emma teaches in Year 6 at Christ Church New Malden. She has only just moved to the area but has been teaching since 2007, mostly in Essex. Emma loves reading and has done since she was young, when she was often transported to times gone by or other worlds through the power of words. Good authors have an almost magical gift of being able to paint a picture so vivid that you are right there running, hiding or laughing with the heroes and villains. Emma am particularly excited about the Spark! Awards as she want to inspire in children the very same love of books that she had at that age, with the added pleasure of finding and promoting new authors.

Kath Briggs

Kath Briggs. Chase Bridge Primary School

Kath is a Year 5 teacher at Chase Bridge Primary School and a literacy lead. Her school loved being a part of the first Spark! Book Awards last year and it created a real buzz around reading for pleasure. She's really excited to be a part of the panel this year and is really looking forward to discovering some fantastic books and authors.

Paul Nelson

Paul Nelson, Lowther Primary School

Paul is an English Subject Leader and a Year 5 teacher at Lowther Primary School. He is really looking forward to choosing the very best books for children aged 9-11. It's a great age for children to be reading enthusiastically, as there are so many high-quality texts to choose from, and Paul is excited by the prospect of finding more great books to recommend.
